Neurodivergent Training

Virtual Reality Experience

At Sanitas Hub, we believe that awareness without empathy is just information. Our Neurodiversity Awareness Training was designed to go far beyond a slide deck — combining evidence-based practice, practical frameworks, and first-of-its-kind immersive technology to give every delegate a genuine understanding of neurodivergent experience.

The Landscape Today

700K people on the autism spectrum in the UK

29% of autistic people are in any kind of paid employment

10% of the UK population are affected by dyslexia to some degree

Why This Training Matters

Neurodiversity is not a deficit — it is a natural variation in how human brains are wired. Conditions such as autism, ADHD, dyslexia, dyspraxia, dyscalculia, Tourette syndrome, and sensory processing differences each represent a unique way of experiencing the world. Yet the vast majority of workplaces are still designed around a single neurotype.

Under the Equality Act 2010, employers have a legal duty to make reasonable adjustments for neurodivergent employees. Beyond compliance, creating neuro-inclusive environments leads to stronger teams, reduced turnover, and workplaces where everyone can perform at their best.

Your legal duty: The Equality Act 2010 protects neurodivergent individuals under its disability provisions. Employers must make reasonable adjustments to ensure neurodivergent employees are not put at a substantial disadvantage — from flexible working and assistive technology to adjustments in the recruitment process.

The Live ADHD Experience

🥽 Virtual Reality Feature

Step Inside a Neurodivergent Mind

One of the most powerful elements of our training is the use of virtual reality goggles to give delegates a first-hand "live ADHD experience." Rather than simply reading about ADHD in the workplace — the racing thoughts, the sensory overload, the difficulty filtering distractions — delegates experience it directly. This immersive technology builds genuine empathy and is consistently cited by attendees as the most memorable and impactful part of the programme. When you have felt what it is like, the way you lead, communicate and support changes permanently.

Conditions Covered

The training provides a thorough and compassionate overview of neurodivergent conditions, their strengths, and their challenges in workplace settings:

Autism Spectrum Disorder

ADHD

Dyslexia

Dyspraxia / DCD

Dyscalculia

Tourette Syndrome

Sensory Processing Disorder

Key Frameworks From the Training

Our training equips delegates with two practical, memorable frameworks they can use immediately and long-term. These are at the heart of the Sanitas Hub methodology.

L·G·P

Immediate Support Framework Steps for in-the-moment response

  • L

    Listen

Create genuine space for the individual to be heard. Active listening — through acceptance, genuineness, and empathy — ensures the person feels understood without judgement before any action is taken.

  • G

    Guide

Using a person-centred approach, offer clear and calm guidance that respects the individual's autonomy and self-direction. Ask what support they need rather than assuming it.

  • P

    Protect

Safeguard the individual's dignity, confidentiality, and wellbeing. Ensure they feel psychologically safe and that any support offered upholds their rights under the Equality Act 2010.

For sustained, long-term success, our training introduces the E·P·C Support Plan — a structured approach to building workplaces where neurodivergent employees can truly thrive:

Environment

  • Lighting, noise & sensory considerations

  • Office layout and safe spaces

  • Visual aids and colour coding

  • Reducing distractions and overstimulatio

Practical Plans

  • S.M.A.R.T. task management

  • Workload prioritisation structures

  • Peer support and advocacy

  • Access to Work assessments

Communication

  • Individual communication preferences

  • Text, phone, email — chosen by them

  • Before, during & after meeting plans

  • Avoiding assumptions; asking directly

"Happy employees are five times more likely to stay if we can create a type of work environment that suits their neurodiversity — this can have a huge impact on your employees and business."

Key Takeaways From the Training

Neurodiversity is natural, not deficit. Neurological differences — including autism, ADHD, dyslexia and more — are normal human variation. The goal is accommodation and inclusion, not "fixing."

Language matters enormously. Delegates learn the difference between helpful and unhelpful language, and understand why asking individuals their preference always outperforms assumptions.

The LGP Framework gives immediate tools. Listen, Guide, Protect — a simple, memorable structure for responding to colleagues in the moment, regardless of your role or seniority.

The EPC Support Plan creates lasting change. Building the right Environment, Practical plans, and Communication structures transforms organisations from the inside out — and fulfils your legal duty under the Equality Act.

Empathy through VR changes perspective permanently. Delegates who experience the live ADHD simulation leave with a fundamentally different understanding — one that data and statistics alone cannot produce.

Allyship is active, not passive. Good allyship means casting out assumptions, continually educating yourself, advocating for colleagues, and accepting that you will not always get it right — and that's part of the process.
